From The Indianapolis News, Wednesday, January 6, 1915: The Irving Theater was packed last night with people who paid 25 cents (2013: $5.67) each to see the all-star vaudeville entertainment given by Irvingtonians to benefit The News Winter Relief Fund and The Star Charity. Will Forsyth, the artist, was master of ceremonies. Fellow Irvingtonian Kin Hubbard drew Abe Martin cartoons, and Miss Grace Osborne, who has lived among the Moki Indians, performed their graceful prayer dance to the winds in traditional Indian costume. A classical Greek dance was given by Miss Helene Hibben while Miss Bertha Bennett performed a “soap bubble” dance of ethereal lightness and beauty to generous applause. Mrs. Frances McCarty Johnson and “the Irvington Caruso” Paul W. Jeffries sang, and Mrs. Demarchus Brown gave a humorous monologue on Irvington that received a responsive roar.
