INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) brings audiences the national Broadway hit play, Good People, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. The production of Good People features cast members from Indianapolis including Constance Macy and Nick Abeel who, with their fellow cast members, manage to ignite laughter, provoke contemplation and pull audiences to the edge of their seats throughout the performance.
Good People takes a look at the economic divide through the story of a single mother, Margie Walsh, who is on her last leg financially, but hasn’t lost her sense of humor. Walsh loses her job and faces eviction, while simultaneously tasked with caring for her adult daughter with special needs. When Margie learns that her former high school flame has become a successful doctor, she seeks his help and raises questions about the matrix of class, opportunity and our own assumptions of what it means to ‘succeed.’
Audiences are welcomed to enjoy Good People at the Indiana Repertory Theatre from Jan. 7 to Feb. 1. Opening night is Friday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m. and will include refreshments and a champagne toast with the cast in the grand lobby immediately following the performance. Tickets range from $25 – $59 depending on date and time, students $20. For tickets call 317.635.5252 / www.irtlive.com
