INDIANA — Arcadia Publishing is pleased to announce the publication of Hidden History of Indiana, a new history of the area by author Edward Fujawa.
A lost river flows in — and under — Southern Indiana. The ghostly remains of a defunct ordnance plant in LaPorte County belie the industriousness of the six thousand men and women who worked there at its height to support the home front effort during World War II. Balloonists delighted Hoosier crowds in the days before the airplane, and Studebakers roared along on the Studebaker proving ground just west of South Bend. From the long history of Indiana’s coal industry to the construction of the state’s first railroad, author Edward J. Fujawa offers a fresh angle on the well-known while unearthing remarkable and obscure tales from two centuries of Indiana history.
Ed Fujawa is a historian and attorney from Indianapolis, Indiana. His first book, Vanished Indianapolis, published by the History Press in 2023, won the Indiana Author Award for non-fiction in 2024. Ed manages class900Indy.com a blog about the history of Indianapolis and surrounding areas. He also produces and hosts Yesterday’s Indianapolis, a podcast which explores the history of the Circle City. Ed lives in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood of Indianapolis with his wife, Ashlee, and their two dogs, Trevor and Joanie.
