INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Parks and Recreation is now hiring more than 300 seasonal lifeguards and pool supervisors for 20 aquatic facilities throughout Marion County. Lifeguarding is a great job for high school and college students, teachers looking for summer employment, or older adults wanting to become more involved in their community. Indy Parks’ lifeguards are trained and certified using the StarGuard certification program which covers lifeguarding skills, water rescue techniques, First Aid, and CPR. The training is completed at an Indy Parks’ internal training facility and is available on select weekends starting April 4.
To qualify, applicants must be at least 16 years old, a Marion County resident and pass a swimming test. Apply online at www.indy.gov/lifeguard or call (317) 327-1470 for more information.
