INDIANAPOLIS – In an effort to get more children vaccinated for the upcoming school year, the Marion County Public Health Department will offer free, walk-in vaccine clinics at several locations in Indianapolis. The clinics are designed to serve children entering kindergarten through 12th grade.
For a child to receive vaccine, a parent or guardian must be present and have a photo ID. They should also bring a copy of the child’s vaccine records and an insurance card, if available. Insurance is not required to receive free vaccine.
Getting the proper dose of recommended vaccine provides a child with the best protection possible. Depending on the vaccine, more than one dose may be needed to build high enough immunity to help prevent disease or to boost immunity that fades over time.
Walk-in vaccine clinics for children will be held at the following times and locations:
• Saturday, July 12 (Back to School & Family Resource Day) from 8:30 a.m.-Noon at the Marion County Public Health Department, 3838 N. Rural Street
• Thursday, July 31 from 2-5:30 p.m. at Shortridge High School,
3401 N. Meridian St.
• Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 3-7 p.m. at Eskenazi Health Thomas & Arlene Grande Campus 6002 E. 38th St.
