New Indy Parks Director Announced

INDIANAPOLIS — Mayor Joe Hogsett has announced the appointment of Brittany Crone as the Director of Indianapolis Parks and Recreation (Indy Parks) effective June 14, 2025.
Since 2023, Brittany has served as the Director of Community Outreach in the Mayor’s Office, where she leads the team of Mayor’s Neighborhood Advocates (MNA) and oversees the Mayor’s Action Center. Prior to this role, she was the Chief Communications Officer for the Office of Public Health and Safety (OPHS) as well as an MNA for Downtown and Near West Neighborhoods. Throughout her time with the City, Brittany has been committed to increasing the visibility and accessibility of City-County resources for all neighbors. Her diverse career in bilingual communications, non-profit community service, public health, mental health services, and local government demonstrate her dedication to Indianapolis and those who call this city home.
Brittany studied psychology at IUPUI and served as a certified peer support counselor with the IU School of Medicine PACER project.
Brittany Crone succeeds Phyllis Boyd, who served as Director of Indy Parks since 2021. Phyllis oversaw historic levels of investment in parks totaling over $140 million. Under her leadership, Indy Parks expanded environmental education, arts programs, and city-wide sports.
