INDIANAPOLIS — Paramount Schools of Excellence has received a grant of $721,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its Marion County K-12 Public Schools Initiative. This is one of 43 implementation grants being awarded through phase 2 of the initiative, which is designed to help strengthen the academic achievement of students in Indianapolis and improve their prospects for success after high school.
With this funding, Paramount will expand its educator development initiatives across its three flagship campuses — Brookside, Cottage Home, and Englewood. The investment will support the growth of the school’s Career Pathways System and coaching model, which provide structured mentorship, leadership training, and ongoing professional development for teachers and administrators.
In addition, Andrew J. Brown Academy (AJB) has received a grant of $274,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc.
The funding will support a major expansion of the academy’s Career Pathways programming, with an emphasis on comprehensive professional development for all staff. The initiative will fund structured mentorship programs, targeted coaching, and leadership training to address key challenges — including achievement gaps and the growing need for support services for English Language Learners (ELL). The new programming aims to significantly increase the number of educators equipped to meet the needs of ELL students while improving instructional quality across the board.
