• The Full Worm Blood Moon will be visible in Indianapolis beginning at 11:57 p.m. on March 13, and will be at the maximum on March 14 at 2:58 a.m. The moon will change shade, turning red as the eclipse progresses. For all you night owls, this should be a great celestial show. However, the forecast calls for overcast skies.
• Get your tickets NOW for the Beastside Brewfest 2025! This is a fundraiser for the 79th Annual Irvington Halloween Festival in October. The Brewfest will be held Saturday, April 26 from 7-10 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and School. General admission is $35, and VIB admission is $50, which entitles you to light snacks, guaranteed seating, and early admission at 6 p.m. There are unlimited samples from some of the best breweries in the area, and $5 pints available for purchase. • The City of Lawrence will hold its Shred Day on Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Lawrence Community Park, 5301 N. Franklin Rd. They will also accept electronic recycling, for $20 per TV and computer monitor. The fee for shredding is $2 per box.
• The Magick Candle will host a St. Patty Psychic Fair on Saturday, March 15 from 1-7 p.m. at Playground Production Studio, 5529 Bonna Ave. Parking is $5, and 15 minute readings are $15 or $30 for 30 minutes. There will be a variety of readers: tarot, automatic hand, and numbers. There will be a pet psychic, so bring the fur kid! There will also be a cash bar offering beer, wine, and cider for those 21 and older.
• Get ready for McNamara Florist’s huge annual garage sale on Friday, March 28 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, March 29 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at their headquarters, 1853 Ludlow Ave. on the near eastside. They’ll have artwork, candles, holiday decorations, and tons of home decor at great prices.
• Scecina’s Club 53 is back with the theme “Let’s Glow Crazy!” The evening will include great food, drinks, live entertainment, exciting games, and a $10,000 reverse raffle. The event will be held Saturday, April 26. Visit scecina.org/club-35-ticket/ to get your advance tickets.
• Mark your calenders for an evening of great music for a good cause as Sarah Grain, Bill Price, and Greg Ziesemer perform songs of beauty, complexity, and the diversity of nature on Saturday, April 12 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Roberts Park United Methodist Church, 401 N. Delaware. Admission is $20 at the door, and all proceeds benefit the Hoosier Environmental Council and Earth Charter Indiana. Parking is free and refreshments will be available.
• Work has started on moving utilities along East Washington St. to make way for the Blue Line construction. It’s a mess . . . and will likely be messier in the near future. Please patronize the small businesses along the way to show support for them! They are our friends and neighbors.
