Rising from humble roots of a Mississippi sharecropper, Fannie Lou Hamer (1917-1977) became a leader in the struggle for voting rights at a time when Civil Rights were not secure. Her determination to keep fighting through good and bad times made her a true revolutionary for her time.
The show stars Maiesha McQueen, who is making her IRT debut. Morgan E. Stevenson will be the musical director for the show, along with Spencer Bean on electric and acoustic guitars, and Dorian Phelps on percussion and vocals.
