From The Indianapolis Times, Wednesday, September 13, 1922: “Miss Indianapolis,” Thelma Blossom, “the most beautiful girl in America” was welcomed home today by hundreds of people who crowded the plaza at Union Station. The Atlantic City Pageant winner was presented with a big bunch of red roses as she was escorted amid cheering throngs to her place of honor in a big McFarland touring car. Led by mounted police followed by a band, “Miss Indianapolis” was enthusiastically greeted by thousands of citizens lining the route as her car made its way to the Claypool Hotel where more than 400 guests in the Riley Room welcomed her. Tomorrow Miss Blossom will wear the dazzling Paris evening creation, presented to her by the L. S. Ayres & Co of Indianapolis, when she attends a musical program in her honor at Keith’s Theater.
