INDIANAPOLIS — Thanks to Senate Enrolled Act 2 that passed recently in the General Assembly, most Hoosiers will receive a $200 refund from the state. Initially, Governor Holcomb asked for a $225 refund, but the Senate lowered it to $200 and also included a gas tax cap at 29.5 cents for a year.
The measure also established a family support fund. Taxpayers who receive refunds through Direct Deposit will see the deposit in their accounts. The state will issue checks to everyone else. They have not set a time frame yet on when the money will be available.
