INDIANAPOLIS — The International Center will partner with the Indianapolis City Market to host a Ukrainian Day festival benefitting the Ukrainian Society of Indiana. The festival will take place on Wednesday, June 29 at the Indianapolis City Market, located at 222 E. Market St. in Indianapolis.
The day-long event will promote Ukrainian culture and heritage and generate funds for Ukrainian Society of Indiana for its ongoing programming and community efforts. Ukrainian food demonstrations and tastings will be offered at 11:30 a.m. and at 4:30 p.m. and select City Market vendors will offer special Ukraine-themed menu items.
Music and song performances and workshops will be offered throughout the day, including the U.S. debut performance of “Break the Silence” by theater director Maria Fokina-Rakotonarivo of the Swiss BELOE studio. Fokina-Rakotonarivo created the performance in response to the war in Ukraine to support Ukrainian efforts.
Visitors can also enjoy a happy hour at Tomlinson Tap Room, where $1 from each pint of Bier Brewery Special Kolsch will be donated to the Ukrainian Society of Indiana.
