INDIANAPOLIS — The Foundation for Lutheran Child and Family Services will host a Walk/Run/Bike event on Saturday, May 22 at White River State Park. The registration fee is $25 per person and children 8 and under are free. The event will be held at White River State Park, 801 W, Washington St.
The walk will raise awareness of youth experiencing homelessness and also help fund the new Pando Aspen Grove of Community Heights Permanent Housing Program, which is just now being completed on East 16th St. near Ritter. The complex offers one-bedroom apartments to serve youth who have experienced homelessness, with a special focus on youth aging out of the foster care/child welfare system. The site includes an on-site food pantry, supporting services for employment, health care, and legal aid.
