IRVINGTON — The Irvington Garden Club’s monthly Farmer’s Market will open Sunday, June 14 from noon-3 p.m. at Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St. Clair.
The Marion County Health Department has issued guidelines which the market will adhere to as much as possible. The market will be restricted to vendors selling food staples including produce, meats, eggs, cheese, soaps, and prepackaged food from commercial kitchens. For the safety of patrons, no eating or pets are allowed on the market grounds. Restrictions may be relaxed for upcoming markets.
The Garden Club organizers will require a mask on all patrons, and will set up entry and exit points to the market grounds with a one-way flow marked for shoppers. Shoppers are asked to stay at least 6 feet from others, and pay for items with credit cards, where accepted.
The Irvington Farmer’s Market takes place on the second Sunday of the month, June through October. The market began in 2000 with just a few vendors, and now has about 100 vendors selling everything from produce to antiques.
