INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is looking to create more engagement opportunities by creating Peace Benches. The benches placed around the community will be a place where citizens and police can positively interact and communicate.
They are hoping to create these benches with used bottle caps. IMPD is asking for donations to help make the Peace Benches a reality. To donate used bottle caps, contact Officer Stacy Riojas at 317-327-2288 or drop off caps at the IMPD East District Headquarters, 201 N. Shadeland, door 1.
Caps must be clean and dry. Any bottle caps, flip top caps, coffee can lids, and medicine bottle caps are acceptable. Do NOT donate the plastic bottles themselves, as that is a different kind of plastic.
