Bikini Mountain Climber Freezes to Death

Gigi Wu, a Taiwanese hiker and mountain climber who became a social media star by posting pictures of herself in a bikini after reaching the summit of over 100 mountains in the last 4 years, died last week of hypothermia after falling over 70 feet into a rocky ravine in Taiwan’s Yushan National Park. According to media reports, Ms. Wu managed to contact authorities but rescuers were delayed by bad weather. Ms. Wu always wore climbing clothes but changed into a bikini upon reaching the summit of any peak she climbed and took a selfie.
IndyCar Series Gets New Title Sponsor

Nippon Telephone & Telegraph will become both the new title sponsor and technological sponsor, replacing Pep Boys and Verizon respectively. Japan has a vested interest in the series with Honda providing more than half of the engines used by teams and Firestone/Bridgestone provides the tires the teams use to race on.

Jimmy Rayl Passes

Hoosier basketball legend Jimmy Rayl passed away in his home on January 20th at the age of 77. Rayle graduated from Kokomo High School in 1959. In his senior year he won the Trester Award and was named “Mr. Basketball.” Rayl went on to play basketball at Indiana University and was named to the All American Team in 1962 and 63. The Cincinnati Royals drafted him in the 3rd round of the 1963 NBA draft. He elected to play for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company AAU team for four years. In 1967 the first year of the Indiana Pacers team, Rayl was the starting point guard. He played with the Pacers through the 1968 season. He worked as a salesman for Xerox until his retirement.
Super Bowl Same Old Same Old

In case you were on another planet over the weekend, the LA Rams and the “Team America Loves to Hate” won their respective divisional titles and will meet in Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday, February 3rd to play Super Bowl LIII. ‘Nuff said.
