INDIANAPOLIS — The much-anticipated reopening of the historical theatre will happen on June 22 with its first show, “Going Back to Indiana: An intimate evening with Elizabeth Eckert and Cheley Tackett.”
Elizabeth Eckert, a graduate of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, garnered the attention of Hoosiers throughout the U.S. with her single “Bloomington,” a tribute to the town where she spent her formative years. Ohio native Cheley Tackett, a poignant writer and powerful performer, was recently declared the New Folk Winner at the prestigious International Kerrville Folk Festival, following in the footsteps of previous winners Lucinda Williams and Lyle Lovett.
For this June 22 show, purchase tickets at www.IndyFringe.org for $15. The District Theatre is located at 627 Massachusetts Ave. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the performance begins at 8:00 p.m.
