INDIANAPOLIS — The Warren Central High School Winter Guard will travel to Japan for a competition on January 28. To give them a great send-off, everyone is invited to special performance of their 2018 production on Sat., Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Warren Central High School Gym. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students. Purchase tickets at the door (#25).
As United States Ambassadors for WGI Sport of the Arts, the world’s leader in producing indoor marching arts events for color guards, percussion ensembles, and winds groups, 25 Warren Central students will compete in this international event.
Warren Central High School will be the first U.S. group to attend a WGI Asia event. A perennial Scholastic World Class Championship finalist since 2008 and silver medalist in Scholastic Open Class in 2007, Warren Central is one of the most-traveled color guards throughout the United States attending regional contests in Florida, Nevada, and New Jersey the past five years. The Warren Central Winter Guard also participates in the Tri-State Marching Arts circuit. The color guard is an 8-time Tri-State Champion and 5-time Indiana State Champion.
Warren Central students and staff will participate in a WGI judge’s clinic and compete in the WGI Japan Regional that features 50 color guards from Asia. The color guard will have the opportunity to sightsee and hopes to visit Tokyo Disneyland.
