INDIANAPOLIS — The 4th annual Showcase of Schools, presented by the IPS Education Foundation, will display the district’s numerous academic programs and choice offerings. This year’s event is Sat., Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Indiana State Museum. Families will enjoy free admission to the museum and free parking while discovering all of the options IPS has to offer.
From Pre-K through high school, representatives from more than 70 IPS schools and departments, as well as several community partners, will be available to discuss the many academic options, programming and extracurricular activities.
Families can find out about:
• The New All-Choice High School Model. Set to launch in the 2018-19 school year, IPS will offer 15 high school option programs. There will also be 40+ academic pathways to choose from, including new College and Career Options. Students can try exciting, interactive, hands-on activities to learn more about the available programs.
• Choice Enrollment Launch. Families can apply for any of the district’s 30 K-8 choice options.
• Enroll Indy. Representatives will sit down with families one-on-one to help walk them through the new OneMatch enrollment process that allows families to apply for up to 10 programs through one application.
• The International Welcome Tour. A unique opportunity for international families to learn more about what IPS has to offer and the special services available to meet their specific needs. A number of interpreters will shepherd families through this exciting on-site experience offered in multiple world languages.
• Additional IPS Departments. Representatives from Transportation, IPS Police, JROTC, Athletics, IPS Education Foundation, Special Education and English as a Second Languages will be on-site to answer questions.
• The IPS Bus Stop Café food bus will be on hand to serve 500 free, fun and nutritious meals.
In addition, there will be music and dane performances to showcast the visual and performing arts, live remote raffles and giveaways, a grand prize drawing, and much more.
