The Ice Cream Social at the Bona Thompson (5350 E. University) in Irvington on Aug. 6th was great fun and the rain held off all afternoon. The Black Hat Society Witches rode in on bicycles and the one in green (Nancy) is rumored to be in charge of this year’s Halloween Festival – how appropriate. The witches served up the ice cream all afternoon — Leslie and Karin loved the chocolate. Andrea Light did a fabulous chalk drawing on the sidewalk (she’s the lady who painted the owl on the street box at Washington & Emerson). Photo by Paula Nicewanger/Weekly View
