From The Indianapolis Star, Tuesday, March 28: A delegation of fifty men and women from Irvington appeared before the board of public works and protested against the recent action of the board in ordering the Indianapolis Traction & Terminal Co to decrease the number of street cars operated south of Washington Street on Audubon Road in order to increase the service on East Washington Street from Audubon Road to Sheridan Avenue. The board had directed that every other Irvington car go to the Sheridan Avenue terminal instead of every third car, as formerly. The delegation, representing residents on South Audubon Road, said 6,158 passengers use the line weekly and the present service on Audubon Road is not sufficient to handle the traffic and should not be decreased. The board ordered a public hearing in the case next Monday.
