Hundreds of thousands of movies, TV shows and music albums are now available for free streaming directly to one’s computer or mobile device from The Indianapolis Public Library through a partnership with hoopla digital, a popular online streaming service featuring content that is always available without waitlists.
Hoopla greatly expands the amount of streaming content now available at IndyPL. Library cardholders can stream content via the Library’s website (www.indypl.org) or by downloading the free hoopla digital mobile app (www.hoopladigital.com) on their iOS 6 (found in App Store) or Android (Google Play store) smartphones and tablets.
Downloading can be done only through the hoopla app, and no additional software application is needed. Kindle and Nook tablets are not currently supported.
Cardholders are allowed 10 checkouts per month. Movie and TV content is available for 72 checkouts. Music is available as entire album checkouts for seven days. However, the same album can be borrowed only twice in a 30-day period. Once a due date occurs, content automatically will disappear, so individuals don’t need to worry about deleting files from their devices. Users can enjoy content across all of their supported devices, but content can only be played on one device at a time.
