INDIANAPOLIS — The IDADA First Friday Tour will be held Jan. 1, 2016. Many galleries and art centers will be open, including:
• Art Bank, 811 Mass. Ave. Abstract painter, Hilaire, is the featured artist during January at the Art Bank. His show, “Abstract Art Dynamics,” will be showcased in the Feature Room, premiering January 1st, ringing in the New Year.
• ATHENAEUM ARTSPACE, 401 E. Michigan St., 2nd floor. The #BeReconciled Puzzle Art, by David Durica, is a series of art & community engagement to encourage residents of Indianapolis to claim the change they wish to see in the world. You can be a piece to the puzzle, and sponsor a puzzle piece.
• Sideshow Art and Odditorium, 222 E. Market St. #26. Amazing and unusual works of art by local artists. Specimens by Carla Knopp, letterpress posters by Carl Pope, little floating bridges by Steve Paddack, tiny city-scapes by Becky Wilson, and special little pieces by several other artists.
• Harrison Center for the Arts, 1505 N. Delaware St. The Harrison Gallery features “You Are Here”, by Flatland Kitchen (Eric & Rebekah Nolan) with additional new work by Rebekah Nolan. The work hangs through January 29.
• Circle City Industrial Complex (CCIC), 1125 E Brookside Ave. Satch Lost and Found Art Studio. Upstairs in Studio 2L. SATCH exhibits new work “Shooting Targets.” The target’s black concentric circles surrounding a bull’s eye center is a perfect graphic design. Others see it as a hit zone to be ripped and shot apart. SATCH creating both assemblage and painting.
Admission to all galleries and studios is free.
