INDIANAPOLIS — This December, The District Theatre invites audiences to experience a dazzling, deeply human new musical: WONDERS, written and composed by acclaimed Indianapolis creator Ben Asaykwee (Cabaret Poe, White City Murder, A Christmas Carol Comedy, Zirkusgrimm). It will run for 3 weekends: December 5-21
When Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol, he wasn’t just telling a ghost story — he was challenging society to open its eyes to those left in the cold. Nearly two centuries later, WONDERS carries that same torch. Where Dickens imagined a man (Scrooge) awakened to kindness in one transformative night, WONDERS expands on that idea — telling the story from behind the scenes and revealing the quiet acts of hope, courage, and grace that ripple outward through ordinary lives. It’s a story about what happens before the miracle, when people still dare to believe in goodness even when the world seems unkind.
Shows on Friday and Saturday begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday shows begin at 5 p.m. Tickets are $45 for the VIP experience, $31 for general admission. Visit indydistricttheatre.org to make reservations. The theatre is located at 627 Mass Ave.
