IndyFringe 2024 Continues Supporting Artists

INDIANAPOLIS — The IndyFringe Festival presented by Everwise Credit Union brings their annual celebration of the performing arts to new neighborhoods and soars to new heights from August 15-25.
With 70 unique acts and 250 performances, this year’s Festival will support over 500 performers from cities around the globe including Berlin, Montreal, New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Tampa, and even Pocatello, Idaho.
In 2002, the City of Indianapolis hosted the Theatre City Indianapolis summit, which determined that the presence of a Fringe Theatre Festival in the Mass Ave Cultural Arts District would stimulate the local economy, generate excitement around Indy’s innovative performing artists, and develop a community interest in this particular pocket of the city. Since the first festival in 2005, IndyFringe has brought over 206,000 guests to the district, and returned over $2.35 million to the artists fueling Indy’s creative market. Now, as the festival prepares for a significant milestone in 2025, the widely-beloved event is revisiting its initial intentions by partnering with stages in the Near East Side and Fountain Fletcher neighborhoods in addition to its historic presence on Mass Ave.
IndyFringe is able to return 70% of all box office revenue directly to the artists creating the work. With each production paying no more than $325 out of pocket to secure their spot in the festival, this keeps barriers to access low, taking the risk out of trying something new. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly magic experience, ballet, an evening of stand-up comedy, drag, world-premier drama, or even (in a first for IndyFringe) aerial dance performances, Fringe has shows for every taste.
All tickets are $10 – $32, with rush tickets for select shows at $12 each. There are 6-Ticket Flex Passes available for $99.
IndyFringe is partnering  with new venues in 2024. This year, venue #5 will be at the Dance Kaleidoscope Studio in the bustling Circle City Industrial Complex, 1125 Brookside Ave., Suite D5. The Festival  will also be partnering with The White Rabbit Cabaret in Fountain Square, 1116 Prospect Ave. (21and over only venue). This expansion will bring devoted IndyFringe audience members to new neighborhoods as they interact with not only new art, but also new businesses, and parks. Shows will also be at the IndyFringe Theatre, 719 E. St. Clair (two stages), the District Theatre, 627 Mass Ave. (two theatres)
The Div(x)Fest Fellowship: The inaugural class of the Div(x)Fest fellowship will present the world premiere of their coming-of-age drama, The Sleepover, inside of the Festival. This original work was commissioned by IndyFringe as part of a new fellowship program designed to support the work of emerging women and nonbinary theatre artists.
