We are thrilled to announce the opening of a cutting-edge new Eskenazi Health Center on April 17 at 6002 E. 38th St. In this state-of-the-art facility, we can provide residents on the east side and along the Northeast Corridor with health care services unavailable in current neighborhood locations. Patients will be able to get a mammogram in the same building where they visit their primary care physician, along with so many other health care options.
In addition to primary care, visitors to the new facility can access Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center services, podiatry, chiropractic services, physical therapy/rehabilitation services, imaging services, a pharmacy, lifestyle medicine and financial counseling. The facility, which was built with input from the community, also offers numerous amenities apart from health care, including a cafe, multipurpose space, technology hub and teaching kitchen. An impressive array of artwork, much of it created by those living in nearby neighborhoods, will be displayed for patient and staff enjoyment. Outside of the building will be walking trails and a community plaza where recreational events will take place.
Due to the amenities and size of this 95,000-square-foot facility, two Eskenazi Health Center primary care practices will be moving there: Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor and Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington, which is the location of my practice. The staff and providers from those locations, including my practice, will all be transitioning to the new facility, so current patients can rest assured that their health team will not change.
Note that Eskenazi Health Center Grassy Creek, serving the Far Eastside, and its providers will stay in the same location and won’t be part of this move.
The new facility, located on the northeast corner of East 38th St. and North Arlington Ave., will include free parking and will also be accessible through the new IndyGo Purple Line, currently slated for completion this fall. Check out the routes from your home to 6002 E. 38th St. at www.indygo.net/routes.
Of course, transitions can be confusing, so we want to ensure patients know what is happening just prior to and after the move. Following are some details that might help answer questions:
• Anyone who has an appointment scheduled with a primary care doctor currently working at Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington or Eskenazi Health Center Forest Manor on or after the April 17 opening will be seen at the new facility, even if Eskenazi Health MyChart initially lists the previous location.
• An Eskenazi Health Center team member will reach out to those with appointments near the moving date to confirm details and answer any questions.
• Patients with prescriptions to fill during this transitional period can take advantage of our free pharmacy delivery service by calling 317-880-4500.
• Many of our patients like to use Eskenazi Health MyChart to access appointment details, staff communications and prescriptions and can continue to do so. We recommend you sign up for it if you haven’t yet. If you run into any difficulties with MyChart, please call 317-880-2273 for technical assistance.
• For questions, problems or concerns about this move that have not been addressed, please call 317-880-7666.
We would like to celebrate the new opening with you and give you a taste of what’s to come. Preview Eskenazi Health East 38th Street with us by stopping by our community open house on Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. More details about the event will be shared on our website under events as the date nears.
It has been a pleasure serving my patients at Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington, but I can’t wait for all the new offerings that will be available in our new location. I look forward to providing care at Eskenazi Health Center East 38th Street and to taking advantage of all it has to offer.
