INDIANAPOLIS — The search committee for the founding artistic director of the Black professional Equity Theatre Company in residence at The District Theatre has named Ben Rose to the position. Rose is a well-known Indianapolis-based actor, director, and producer.
Rose has 20 years experience in the arts, with his theater mentor as Bryan Fonseca, to fundraising and creating his own projects, such as the Indy Filmmakers Bootcamp and the Black and Brown Soulidarity Festival.
The program will be independent of The District Theatre, with its own board and governance structure. They aim to bring high quality Black theatre artists and technicians together to create a positive space for creative development and performance.
