INDIANAPOLIS —The 93rd Annual Marion County Fair will be held June 30-July 9 at the Fairgrounds, 7300 E. Troy Ave.
For the basic admission price of just $8 per person, the fair offers many free events, attractions and entertainment options. Fair hours are Mon.-Fri. 5-11 p.m., Sat. and Sun. noon-11 p.m.
The centerpiece of the Marion County Fair is the midway. With the urbanization of Marion County and Indianapolis, the farmland and livestock that used to reside here has dwindled. Run by North American Midway Entertainment, the world’s largest traveling outdoor amusement park!, the midway offers affordable thrills for the whole family.
The Miss Marion County Fair Queen Pageant will be held Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m. in the Coliseum. Young ladies from the area will compete for scholarships. The Cutest Baby contest will be held Saturday, July 8 at noon.
There will be several shows throughout the run of the fair, including Silly Safaris, Dino-ROAR,, Circle City Stompers, musician Tyler Milliner, expressionist painter and spoken word artist Hannah Rhane, a bird encounter and pony ride experience, a demolition derby, Vinnie and the Moochers, Lew-E’s Comedy Circus, a Foam Happy Party on July 7 at 6:30 p.m., Daniel Lusk’s magic show, and more.
The fair will feature fireworks on Saturday, July 8 at 9:30 p.m. before closing on the 9th.
