INDIANAPOLIS — Millions of people in Indiana are in need of food assistance. Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana and the Avondale Meadows YMCA will work together again this summer to distribute prepackaged boxes of groceries, courtesy of Gleaners, to thousands of residents in the city.
Each car will receive fresh produce, dairy and meat products once a week at the Avondale Meadows YMCA. Located at 3908 Meadows Drive.
The program starts Wednesday, June 1 and will run from noon to 2 p.m. It will continue to run every Wednesday at the same time through August 31. No registration is required.
Volunteers are also needed. Multiple positions are available. To apply, contact Trish Officer via e-mail pofficer@indymca.org.
