17th Annual Masquerade Ball Back

Jan DeFerbrache, owner of The Magick Candle shop in Irvington, is also the executive director of Gaia Works, Inc., a nonprofit organization that assists the homeless, and underserved throughout Indianapolis.
Gaia Works’ major fundraiser, the 17th Annual Indianapolis Masquerade Ball, will be held March 7 at the Sahara Grotto (7620 Madison Ave.) Sponsored each year by Gaia Works, the Masquerade Ball proceeds will go to help Coburn Place. Coburn Place is a place for domestic abuse survivors and their children. The event is for 21 and older.
Expect an evening of fun, with great music provided by First Time Caller. This year’s costume theme is “Garden Party” (If you can’t find anything to fit the theme, any other costume, formal or business attire is acceptable.) There will be a silent auction, plus raffles from a long list of sponsors and supporters. The cost for dinner and ball tickets is $55 per person, and must be advance tickets. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and there is a cash bar. For the ball only, tickets are $40, and the ball portion of the evening starts at 8 p.m. The deadline is almost here, so reserve tickets now! Ticket reservations are available online at  gaiaworksincrp.org or stop by The Magick Candle (203 S. Audubon). Join in the fun and help raise funds for a very worthy cause!
Gaia Works had to cancel last year’s ball because of the pandemic. However, the work of the organization continued as they focused on getting food and assistance to seniors who were especially vulnerable to COVID-19 and were struggling with access to food.
When you are in Irvington, stop by The Magick Candle — a unique gift shop in the heart of the old commercial district on South Audubon. Customers can find all sorts of items, from jewelry and gift cards, to books and candles. They have a large selection of bulk herbs and oils as well. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They also offer classes and workshops on a variety of topics.
The Magick Candle is at 203 S. Audubon Rd., just north of Irving Circle. Visit www.gaiaworksincrp.org for information about the good works from Gaia Works, or call 317-357-1101.
