Indy Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership Projects Announced

INDIANAPOLIS — Twelve projects will be funded through the 2021 Indianapolis Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership. Indy DPW will award more than $2.2 million in matching grants for the public infrastructure projects among the 12 neighborhood-based organizations.
Projects range in size and scope from a less than a hundred feet of sidewalk repair project near a church in Martindale-Brightwood to partnership on the first expansion of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail since its creation.
In November 2020, Indy DPW announced it would begin accepting applications from community-based organizations for the fourth consecutive year of the program. This matching fund program was made available for improvement projects in the public right-of-way that would benefit all neighbors including roads, sidewalks, multi-use paths, and bridges.
Including the selection of projects from 2021, more than $10 million will have been allocated for 45 projects as submitted by Indy’s community-based organizations.
Area projects that received funding include sidewalk repairs in the Cardinal Cove subdivision near Hague and 82nd St., the expansion of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, sidewalk repair in front of Overcoming Ministries on Yandes St. in Martindale-Brightwood, sidewalk replacements in the St. Joseph historic neighborhood, and sidewalks on Columbia Ave. near the Oaks Academy.
