Bottleworks Food Hall Opens its Doors

INDIANAPOLIS — The Bottleworks District’s food hall, The Garage, has opened its doors. Fourteen vendors, including Lick Ice Cream, Hard Truth Distillery, Clancy’s Gauco’s Fire, and other ethnic eateries, are open for business. In addition to the food offerings, The Garage has space set aside for a flexible kitchen workspace, a space for visiting artists, and a space for live music. Other small retail vendors and service providers will open in the space over the next months.
The Garage was created out of the two huge garages on the Coca-Cola Bottling Company complex that was closed, then became the IPS bus facility. The new space has been carefully preserved with an eye to historic features.
The Bottleworks District is located near 10th St. and Mass Ave. The building was originally built in 1920 and grew to be the largest Coca-Cola bottling plant in the world by 1949. The building was sold to IPS in 1969. In 2017, it was purchased and much of the Art Deco exterior and interior preserved.
Bottleworks boasts a boutique hotel, movie theatre, and will continue expansion for residential and office uses.
