Walking for Dreams Family and Pet Walk to be Held Aug. 16

INDIANAPOLIS —  Paws & Think is joining dozens of other nonprofits for this year’s Walking for Dreams Family and Pet Walk in Indianapolis on Sunday, August 16th. Participants and their pets can walk in person along the Downtown Canal or virtually by using a fitness app.
Paws & Think is committed to improving lives through the power of the human-dog connection, and funds raised during Walking for Dreams will be used to support this mission.
Anyone that would like to register for the walk can do so by visiting www.pawsandthink.org/walk and following the steps listed on the site. They can then create a team, join another participant’s team, or join the Paws and Think, Inc default team.
A goal of $100 is recommended for participants, and a toolkit is provided with tips, graphics, and sample requests to help walkers meet their fundraising goal.
The walk will be held Sunday, Aug. 16. Paws and Think’s walk start time is 2:27 p.m. The physical walk will be held at 337 W. 11th St. at the north end of the canal at Buggs Temple, located between Meridian Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive
Masks are required, social distancing will be followed, and each walker will receive their own bottle of hand sanitizer. Participating dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and up to date on vaccinations.
Walkers can take their walk any time after meeting the $100 fundraising goal, or can start at 2:27 p.m. on August 16th along with the in-person participants. Virtual walkers are challenged to walk for 45 minutes, or about 3.5K.
Those who are unable to participate but would still like to support Paws & Think’s mission and programming can donate by visiting Paws & Think’s page on the Walking for Dreams website at shorturl.at/cpBN8 and clicking the “Donate Now” button at the top right.
