INDIANAPOLIS — Blake Johnson of Indianapolis has been selected as the new District 100 Representative in the Indiana House. Johnson’s selection was made June 27 by Marion County Democratic precinct committee members. He succeeds Dan Forestal, who resigned the post earlier this month.
“I’m honored by the opportunity to serve my neighbors in District 100 as their Representative in the Indiana General Assembly,” Johnson said. “I will work every day to earn the trust placed in me with this appointment, especially as we continue to tackle the current public health crisis, work to address issues of racial and social justice in this city, state and country, and strive to improve the quality of life for all Hoosiers.”
At 33, Johnson is the President and CEO of IndyHub and the IndyHub Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on getting local emerging leaders connected, involved and making a difference in Indianapolis. He previously served as the Indianapolis City-County Councilor for District 12 from 2016 until his selection as State Representative today.
Johnson will serve on three House interim study committees this year: Indiana Homeland Security Foundations, the Interim Study Committee on Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications and the Interim Study Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code.
