Walls Become Bridges to Hope and Beauty

Do you feel as if the walls are closing in? As we enter the third month of a shared shelter-in-place experience brought on by a virus, perhaps we need to look up and look forward from time to time.
The photos by Leslie K. Hogue and Paula Nicewanger represent just a few of the artworks out in our community that we may pass by on our way to work, to pick up groceries, or on other errands. Hundreds more can be found throughout the city — on commercial buildings, in public spaces, and a garage door or two.
Mask up, take a drive, and see some of the murals in the city!
