Super Bowl LIV is Ready to Go

After an exciting weekend which saw the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers win their respective divisions, the stage is now set for the Big Dance in Miami. Patrick Mahomes was on fire, throwing for four touchdown passes and running for another for the Chiefs. The 49er defense and offensive line ground the Green Bay Packers team into hamburger. Reserve running back Raheem Mostert ripped the Pack “D” for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. Aaron Rogers looked dazed and confused in the second half. As always there were protests about the “poor officiating” and bias coverage but in the end there was great rejoicing that the New England Patriots would not be in the championship game.
The next two weeks will see both teams having to endure the strain of media scrutiny and there will be attempts to get someone to screw up and create an incident for the press to jump on and turn into an issue. Right now the current issue is what the 49ers uniforms will be. The 49ers want to wear their all-white throw back uniforms with red numerals. They have had good luck wearing them. The league says no, they have to wear their standard white jersey, gold pants uniforms — oh well.
So start planning your Super Bowl Party. It’s that time of year and get ready for the commercials, of course!
Jack Doyle has been named to replace Chief tight end Travis Kelce in that NFL white elephant “The Pro Bowl” in Orlando this coming Sunday the 25th. The Colts now have three players in that game: Left guard, Quinten Nelson, Linebacker Darius Leonard, and Doyle. It’s only fair because those three are probably the Horseshoes’ three best players.
