INDIANAPOLIS — The 1955 cult cla ssic Bride of the Monster (starring Bela Lugosi and directed by Edward D. Wood, Jr.) sets the tone for an evening of campy horror fun at Indiana Landmarks during Not-So Silent Halloween on Oct. 25 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Beginning at 7 p.m., concert organist Mark Herman conjures atmospheric musical selections on the historic 1892 Sanborn organ inside Grand Hall at Indiana Landmarks Center, and he’ll provide an entertaining score for an early silent short.
Sammy Terry — the ghoul who emerged from his coffin each week to introduce late-night TV’s “Nightmare Theater” on an Indianapolis TV station—will emcee the evening, including a costume contest with cash prizes for best classic movie monster, the best original monster, and the best creepy couple (think Frankenstein’s monster and his bride, Morticia and Gomez, King Kong and Ann Darrow, Janet and Brad).
Special lighting effects, audience participation activities, photo ops and more add to the spooky fun at this pre-Halloween event.
Doors and cash bar open at 6:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $18 ($15 for members of Indiana Landmarks) and may be purchased online at notsosilenthalloween.eventbrite.com, by calling 317-639-4534, or at the door the evening of the event.
Indiana Landmarks Center Grand Hall is located at 1201 Central Ave.
