The Annual Irvington Holiday Open House

IRVINGTON — The annual Irvington Holiday Open House is sponsored by the Irvington Business Association, and will be held Dec. 7 from 5-10 p.m. throughout the historic business district along East Washington and Audubon. Families are encouraged to come out and celebrate the season with activities in the historic district.
Santa will be at George Thomas Florist (photos will be taken and can picked up at the Walgreens at 10th & Arlington available on Monday), and the kids can meet the Grinch at Black Sheep Gifts. Youngsters can get in on the coloring contest at Artisan Realtors with prizes and refreshments. Hampton Designs Studio and Shop will offer kid’s reindeer makeovers and cookies while parents shop. Stop by for hot cocoa at Geneva Hair Salon. The Magic Candle on South Audubon will have treats and be holding their toy drive for the kids of Coburn Place. Coal Yard Coffee on Bonna Ave. will also be hosting a toy drive, so walk on up the street for great coffee and a chance to help those less fortunate.
Check out Irvington’s newest storefront at LVL Up Gaming, next to Hampton Designs in the Lodge. For the Open House, they will be offering a charity concert, Raising Up Lexie, which will help the little girl injured last year during the open house. Next door at Irvington Antiques by Jack & Jill, there will be festive hot apple cider. Upcycled 360 behind the Legend will have snacks and great sales. Restaurants in Irvington will have specials that evening as well.
Ace Hardware will provide trolley rides from their store to the Irvington Library, and they have a beautiful light display at the store at 10th and Arlington for all to enjoy — please sign up for trolley rides at the Irvington Library at 4:45 p.m.; pick up will be at the library as well. Check out the handbell ringers at the Library at 5 p.m., plus some carolers strolling around bringing cheer to all. The Black Hat Society Witches will be out, dressed in their finest holiday costumes.
Luminaria supplies are available at several of the shops; now is a good time to stock up before they sell out! The Luminaria is on Dec. 23.
The Irvington Business Association would like to thank the sponsors and supporters of this year’s Open House: Central Ace Hardware, Black Sheep Gifts, Oakley Hammond, Ryan Thomas at Edward Jones, Jockamo’s Pizza, Hampton Designs, and Artisan Realtors.
