INDIANAPOLIS — The Franklin Township Historical Society will hold its annual autumn-decorated Harvest Luncheon on Sat., Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. The event will be held at Grace Church, 5605 S. Franklin Rd. The meal — Chicken Parmesan with wild rice, mushrooms and parmesan, plus salad, bread, desserts, and beverages — will be catered by A la Arlette.
The luncheon speaker will be Steve Barnett, Marion County Historian, columnist, and president of the Irvington Historical Society, who will give a presentation about Marion County history.
The event will include a silent auction of overflowing baskets of goodies donated by individuals and area merchants. These were quite popular last year and every basket sold.
The Franklin Township Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization, and all proceeds from the luncheon and auction will go toward restoring the windows in the Society’s 147-year-old Meeting House and museum, located at 6510 S. Franklin Rd.
Advance reservations are required; the deadline is Nov. 2nd. Cost for the event is $15 per person. Tickets can be purchased online at www.FTHS.org, or checks can be mailed to the Franklin Township Historical Society, P.O. Box 39015, Indianapolis, IN 46239.
