The Warren Central Warriors basketball juggernaut rolled on in 2018 with both the Boys and Girls Varsity teams winning state championships. The boys team handed the Carmel Greyhounds a 54-48 loss in the final game to win the IHSAA 4-A Class Championship last Saturday night at Bankers Life Field House. Carmel gave the Warriors all they wanted with a twenty point run at one point, when the Warriors couldn’t seem to buy a shot. But Warren rallied and finally took home the victory. In his third season as head man, Coach Criss Beyers guided the Warriors to a perfect 32-0 season. This is the first boys State Championship in the school’s history.
On February 24, the Lady Warriors beat Zionsville 50-46 to claim the Ladies 4-A Class Title. Under Head Coach Stacy Mitchell the team compiled a 20-7 regular season record. So the girls can look the boy straight in the eye.
The Weekly View congratulates the Warren Central Warriors Basketball teams, both Girls and Boys, on their history-making achievements A big round of applause for the coaching staff, the school administration, and the students of Warren Central High School!
