The show is a place where people visit to become inspired, informed and energized with helpful advice, thousands of solutions and the coolest new products. The show features showcase gardens crafted by many of Indiana’s premier landscapers, hundreds of finer outdoor living experts, and thousands of ideas to take home. This year, the Flower + Patio Show will offer bigger showcase gardens throughout the West Pavilion and Expo Hall, with more than 50,000 square feet of greenery. The feature gardens will blend upscale and budget-friendly options from landscapers. The Plant Market is the place to be for buying herbs, seeds, and much more.
Special guests this year include Tyler Wisler on March 10 and 11 with ideas for bringing vintage industrial elements into the landscape. Joanie Sprague will talk about her involvement in the revival of the hit show “Trading Spaces.” Master Gardener and Hoosier blogger Carrie Petty will be on hand to talk about mastering garden dreams. Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp, author and columnist, will be on hand to discus container plantings, plus many other Master Gardeners and designers will be presenting programs throughout the run of the show. Learn about lawn care, home gardening, the importance of growing plants for bees and butterflies, plus much more.
Groovy Fashions are coming in a floral fashion show complete with five models fully-dressed in flowers. Eye-catching outfits made from baby’s breath and more can be seen on Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
If you spot something in one of the feature gardens, remember that almost all plant materials, hardscapes, structures and decorative pieces are available at the Blooming Sale. Talk to the onsite representative of the garden where it’s displayed and they will reserve the item for you. Then on the final day of the show, March 18, pick it up.
Pay honor and tribute to all our heroes on Hero Day, Tuesday, March 13. All active and retired military, police and fire personnel get free admission for the day, plus free parking at the State Fairgrounds. Just bring a valid ID, and come enjoy the Flower + Patio Show for the day.
