LHS Student Break Ground for New Field & Track

INDIANAPOLIS — On the morning of Tuesday, May 2 the students of Lutheran High School held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new multi-purpose field and track.
The students were selected for the honor of breaking ground because they exceeded their fundraising goal last fall. The students conducted a walk-a-thon in October 2016 and raised 126 percent of their $10,000 goal.
Construction of the athletic facility will start in mid-May after final approval is received from the Permit Department of the city of Indianapolis.
Construction is estimated to take approximately 75 days, with the multi-purpose field and track available for use in the fall of 2017.
The field and track will benefit more than 1600 students from Marion County and surrounding communities. They include students from the high school, grade schools, and Junior Saints — a special football and cheerleading program.
