INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Public Library, Mayor Joe Hogsett and Indy Reads are encouraging individuals to spread the joy of reading by participating in the third year of Jingle Books, a community-wide project to provide free books for Indianapolis children during the holiday season.
Continuing through December 23, Jingle Books allows individuals to “give a book and take a book” at Jingle Books displays at all IndyPL locations. They can take a book home as a gift for young children and/or donate new or gently used children’s books. Free gift wrapping stations will be provided on site at most Library locations.
A Jingle Books bin is also available at Indy Reads, 911 Massachusetts Ave.
The goal is to get more books into the hands of young ones who can then read, share and value them as a great gift to receive.
In 2015, Jingle Books provided nearly 1,000 books for children throughout Marion County and received more than 1,300 donated books.
