GREENFIELD — On Sat., Aug. 13, Partners for Animal Welfare Society is hosting its 12th Annual PAWS Pool Party and Dog Dive Contest at Riley Park Pool, 300 Apple St., Greenfield. The Dog Dive Contest begins at 10 a.m. There is a $10 registration fee per team. Medals will be awarded to the three dogs with the longest dives. First time divers are encouraged to participate. This is a fun event and there will be a 30 minute practice session before the actual competition.
The open swim Pool Party, where dogs and their people can swim and play together, will run from noon – 4 p.m. Admission is $12 for one person and one dog and $3 for each additional person and dog. The pool is heated and there is a 6-foot fence that encloses the entire pool area. There will be music and the concession stand will be open selling pulled pork sandwiches, hotdogs, chips, sweet treats, and cold drinks. All proceeds go to the P.A.W.S.
