Walker Career Center and ACE Mentoring Partner for a Successful Year

INDIANAPOLIS — The Walker Career Center (WCC) students in the ACE Mentoring Program had a successful night at the Awards Banquet on May 12 at the Marriott East. In addition to presenting the group’s design project, four students were awarded scholarships.
The ACE Mentoring program is an after school program available to high school students who are interested in architecture, construction, or engineering. Students are led by adult mentors who are practicing industry professionals.  he program runs for two semesters, and students meet every other week. During the first semester, students visit job sites and participate in hands-on activities relevant to the industry. The second semester focuses on working as a team to complete a challenging building project. This year’s assigned project was a visitor’s center at the Indianapolis International Airport.
