From The Indianapolis News, Friday, July 23, 1915: The city health board announced this afternoon that as soon as arrangements can be completed six children’s welfare dispensaries will be established in the city. The dispensaries are to be placed in the congested districts with a view to reducing infant mortality and in a broader way will conduct some of the work that heretofore has been conducted by the Children’s Aid Association. The new dispensaries will also serve as pure milk stations for the distribution of pure milk for babies. It is expected most of the professional services to be given by physicians will be of a voluntary nature. Advice will be given mothers of sick babies and such attention as is needed will be given the babies. The board will spend $4,000 (2014: $92,242.67) on the work this year.
