• The Brookside Neighborhood Association will hold a meeting on June 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Nehemiah Bible Church at 11th and Oxford. Residents are encouraged to come out and get involved in the many positive activities in the neighborhood.
• There will be an IMPD Roll Call Block Party for Emerson Heights on June 6 at 8 p.m at 511 N. Bancroft. There will be a cookout and family-friendly games, plus a chance for neighbors to say “thank you” to the officers who patrol the east side.
• It’s never too early to think about this year’s Halloween costume! The IRT will be holding a “Hand-Me-Down and Hooch” event on June 10 from 6-8 p.m. at their costume and prop warehouse at 3835 E. 21st St. (Sherman and 21st). • The Phoenix Theatre’s production of American Idiot, based on Green Day’s Grammy-winning album, has been generating a lot of excitement. Shows are on Thursdays-Sundays from June 4 to July 5, with two performances on most Saturdays. Ticket are $30-$35, depending on the day of performance. The Phoenix is at 749 N. • The NESCO Neighborhood Games registration is open! NESCO neighbors are invited to join their neighborhood teams to compete for medals and bragging rights in a variety of events, including cornhole, dodgeball, volleyball, trivia, euchre, and a host of other athletic and non-athletic competitions. • Indy Parks pools will offer three days of free water safety classes June 10-12. Presentations begin at 11 a.m. at Broad Ripple (1450 Broad Ripple Ave.), Ellenberger (5301 E.
