From The Indianapolis Star, Monday, April 19, 1915: Yesterday afternoon more than $300 (2014: $6,918.20) was raised for the relief of Romanian war sufferers at a meeting of Indianapolis Romanians at the Romanian Hall, 615 W. Washington St. C. R. Pascu, Cleveland, OH editor of the Romanian newspaper America, praised public spirited American citizens who are lending assistance to sufferers in every country affected by the European war. More than half a million Romanians living in the Transylvania region of Hungary are being compelled to fight under Austrian colors and all Romanian-Americans are called upon to do all in their power to relieve the suffering among the widows and orphans of these unwilling soldiers. Earlier the Romanian brass band led a parade through the West Side foreign section with marchers carrying entwined United States and Romanian flags.
