INDIANAPOLIS — Crews plan to begin a pavement repair and resurface project on U.S. 40/East Washington Street at Interstate 465 (Exit 46) on or after Friday, April 10.
Calumet Civil Contractors is the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor for the $443,000 project, which will include placing an inch and a half of new asphalt surface on U.S. 40/East Washington Street between Mitchner Avenue and Franklin Road.
Weather permitting, up to two lanes of U.S. 40 will be restricted for full-depth concrete patching each weekend for approximately one month beginning Friday, April 10. Lane restrictions will begin each Friday at 7 p.m. and will be removed each Monday before 6 a.m.
Once concrete patches are complete, recurring weeknight lane restrictions should be expected between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for asphalt milling and paving operations. All work is expected to be complete before July 15.
Some temporary flagging of traffic at the I-465 Exit 46 interchange ramps will be necessary, and the ramps are expected to remain open to traffic throughout the project.
