Greenfield Zombies Walk, Stomp and Dance Oct. 25

GREENFIELD — The 2014 Greenfield Zombie Walk on Saturday, October 25th will have a new name, a new location, and a new major event: the Greenfield Zombie STOMP will be held at the Memorial Building (98 E. North Street) and the main event will be the Graveyard Stompers, a live Zombie band.
The Graveyard Stompers (www.graveyardstompers.com), an Indianapolis-based Halloween band, plays not only classic rock, but also Halloween favorites, and some ghostly originals, too. The 8-piece ensemble is made up of guitars, drums and a horn section, and features such characters as Jack D. Ripper on guitar, Johnny Hellfire on trumpet, Mickey Macabre on trombone, and Ophelia Shiver on vocals.  The Graveyard Stompers have appeared at the Children’s Museum and at this year’s Gen Con.
This year’s Zombie Stomp will also feature a Jr. Zombie Zone in the “Dungeon” of the Memorial Building with Halloween videos, zombie crafts and ghostly games for the younger set. The Zombie Café will be selling sandwiches, snacks and drinks to help keep up Zombie energy levels.
The undead festivities kick off at 5:30 with Zombie Stomp registration and ticket sales.  The Walk will start at about 6:00, followed by Trivia and the Costume Contest, and then the Graveyard Stompers will take the stage. Adult tickets are $10; tickets for children under 12 are $5; and a family pass for parents and children is available for just $30.  A ticket includes the Walk, the Costume Contest, Trivia, a Photo Booth, the dance, and the Jr. Zombie Zone downstairs.
